Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 May 2026

Effective: 7 May 2026

Heads up: These terms are provided as a general starting point only and aren't legal advice. We recommend having an Australian solicitor review them before relying on them.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the agreement between you ("you", "your", "the customer") and Website For Tradies ("we", "us", "our") when you use our website-design and hosting service. By submitting our enquiry form, paying an invoice, or using a website we've built for you, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

We design, build, host and maintain websites for Australian tradespeople and local service businesses. Each build typically includes:

Specifics for your build will be agreed in writing (email is fine) before we start work.

2. Eligibility

Our service is intended for Australian-based tradespeople, contractors and local service operators. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into agreements on behalf of your business.

3. Pricing

Build fee

The website build itself is provided at no upfront cost. There is no design fee, no setup fee, and no deposit.

Hosting & support fee

Once your site goes live, you pay $199 AUD per month (incl. GST where applicable). This covers:

"Reasonable" small edits means changes that take an hour or less of work each. Larger projects (a major redesign, a new e-commerce flow, a custom integration) will be quoted separately and require your written approval before we start.

Domain registration

Domain registration (e.g. yourbusiness.com.au) is billed separately by your registrar — typically around $20/year — and is not included in the $199 monthly fee.

Billing

Hosting fees are billed monthly in advance, starting from the date your site goes live. We accept payment by credit card or direct debit via our payment processor. Invoices are issued by email.

Late payment

If a payment fails, we'll email you to let you know and try again within 7 days. If your account remains unpaid for more than 14 days, we may suspend hosting until payment is received. Repeated late payments may result in termination per Section 7.

4. Your obligations

To get the most out of the service, you agree to:

5. Free build guarantee — "not happy, pay nothing"

If we deliver an initial build and you're genuinely not happy with it, you can walk away before going live and you owe us nothing. To use this guarantee:

6. Cancellation

Hosting is month-to-month. There is no minimum term and no lock-in contract. To cancel, email us at lucas@websitefortradies.io with at least 30 days' notice. Your service will continue until the end of the next billing cycle, and you won't be charged again.

On cancellation, we'll take your site offline. We can also help you migrate your domain, content, and Google Business Profile listing to a new provider on request.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your service if you:

Where reasonable, we'll give you written notice and a chance to fix the issue before we take action.

8. Intellectual property

You own: the content you give us (your logo, your photos, your copy), and the customer relationships your website generates.

We own: the underlying design system, codebase, and tooling we use to build sites. You receive a perpetual licence to use the website we deliver for as long as you remain a customer. If you cancel, we can provide an export of your content (text, images) on request, but the underlying build code stays with us.

9. Performance and lead-generation disclaimer

We design every site to be fast, mobile-friendly, and structured for local search — but we don't guarantee a specific number of leads, calls, quote requests, or rankings. Search engine results depend on many factors outside our control, including your local competition, the strength of your Google Business Profile, customer reviews, and search engine algorithm changes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees that cannot be excluded), our liability to you is limited to either:

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profit, lost goodwill, or lost business opportunity.

11. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes affecting active customers will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of New South Wales unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
